Presenter: Douglas Brewer, Senior Managing Director, Retired
Managing and leading are not skills one can acquire by reading a textbook but rather through on-the-job experiences and the "school of hard knocks". Doug Brewer will relate some of his actual experiences and interactions that show his management and leadership style and offer some principles he has come to live by.
- Definition of Management
- Experience management and leadership styles through real-life examples
- Techniques for handling a difficult employee

Doug Brewer is a recently retired 29-year CRE veteran. Besides being a property manager for a number of years, Doug has had property management, construction management and leasing oversight of office, retail, industrial and multi-family assets from Los Angeles to Boston to Miami to Dallas and many markets in between. His titles have included Vice-President of Operations, Senior Asset Manager and, most recently, Senior Managing Director. Doug has worked mostly for owners and has worked closely with just about every major third-party management firm in the country. In short, he has walked the walk, and you are invited to hear him talk the talk.
