Overview

IREM’s Advocacy Impact Day in 2025 returns on February 25 and 26, 2025. On the 25th, a full-day orientation will be held at the NAR building in D.C., located at 500 New Jersey Ave NW. Attendees will learn about significant issues affecting the property management industry while preparing to travel to the Hill to speak with legislators the following day.

Program day highlights

On the programming day, the morning will consist of educational sessions, including a keynote presentation from NAR’s Chief Economist, Lawrence Yun, who will provide a comprehensive economic outlook for both commercial and residential properties.

William P. Cannon, Managing Principal at Offit Kurman, will conduct an educational session discussing rent control and other landlord-tenant issues. Additionally, a session on commercial office vacancy and debt will be led by a panel of three Cushman and Wakefield associates, Charlotte Wilson, Kasara Smith, and Jennifer Laforest. Listen to experts in the field who are eager to share their insights on the future of commercial real estate.

After lunch, the afternoon sessions will focus on the issues IREM is bringing to the Hill and offer instruction on meeting with federal legislators to advocate for meaningful change. Meeting with lawmakers is critical for the industry's future health and growth; don’t miss this opportunity to make your voice heard.

Congressman Ralph Norman (R-SC-5) and Ivan Torrez, Economic Policy Research Aide for Senator Chris Coons (D-DE), will provide an overview of the 119th Congress and will touch on important pieces of legislation IREM is advocating for this session.
