Course Description
The term “professional development” is ubiquitous throughout the property management industry. Familiar components such as networking, interviewing, and mentorship are typically included as part of professional development skill building and focus heavily on interpersonal skills. Less familiar and more limited attention has been placed on intrapersonal skills as part of professional development in the property management industry. But there’s a spillover effect from intrapersonal skills to interpersonal skills, so looking within oneself and honing intrapersonal skills like self-awareness, greater acceptance of ambiguity, and managing anxiety are arguably just as important. In this course, you’ll start addressing this gap between interpersonal and intrapersonal skill building in the property management industry.
Learning objectives:
- Recognize the difference between interpersonal skills and intrapersonal skills
- Learn to leverage the benefits of intrapersonal skills in promoting success with property management stakeholders
- Engage first-hand with a variety of intrapersonal skill practices
- Identify strategies to cultivate intrapersonal skills through consistent practice
