IREM course, certification exam, and webinar information & policies

As of April 2024

Accessing courses and webinars

All courses, webinars, and related materials are accessed through IREM Learning.

After registering for a course, you will receive an email with a receipt for your registration and additional details, including how to access the course.

After registering for a webinar, you will receive an email that includes a receipt and details about accessing the webinar.

All emails are sent to your primary email on file, which is also your username for accessing IREM Learning. If you do not receive these emails, please check your junk, or spam folders.

The chart below outlines the amount of time you will have access to courses and webinars. IREM does not provide extensions for courses.

30 days from last day of RES201, MAH201, or MXD201 instruction, including access to exams

Technical requirements for Live Online and Classroom courses
  • Laptop computer or desktop computer (If you are taking this course in a classroom, you will need to bring your laptop to class)
  • Calculator
  • Reliable internet connection
  • Built-in or external webcam (Live Online)
  • Speaker to hear the class (Live Online)
  • Microphone to speak to the class (Live Online)
  • Ability to access a Zoom meeting via a desktop or laptop computer (Live Online)

Accessing and scheduling certification exams

All certification exams are taken with a live online proctor through ProctorU and are accessed through IREM Learning. For more information about live online proctoring and how to schedule your exam, click here.

After registering for a certification exam, you will receive an email with a receipt for your registration and additional details, including how to access the exam. All emails are sent to your primary email on file, which is also your username for accessing IREM Learning. If you do not see this email in your inbox, please check your junk or spam folders.

Certification exams are open book, which means you may only access IREM course materials during the exam - either a hard copy (can be downloaded from your course offering) or a digital PDF version.

The chart below shows each exam and the respective completion deadline. This deadline is included in your course registration email and on your dashboard alongside your offering on IREM Learning. IREM does not provide extensions for certification exams.

CPM Capstone

MPSA – 7 days from last day of two-day MPSA Prep Course
CPM certification exam – 30 days from last day of two-day MPSA Prep Course

Independent Management Plan

12 months from date of registration

Results for all certification exams are calculated immediately upon submission. An exam score of 70% or better is needed to pass the CPM, ARM, and ACoM certification exams and the MPSA.

Technical requirements and considerations for certification exams
  • Laptop computer or desktop computer
  • Cell phones and tablets are not permitted
  • Reliable internet connection
  • Built-in or external webcam
  • Working microphone and speaker
  • A standard calculator or the calculator on your laptop (no phone calculators)
  • Only one screen can be used for the exam (you can use an external monitor if your laptop is set to mirroring and closed)

Registration cancellation policy

To have consideration for a registration refund or transfer, we require that you contact us in advance of your course/exam/webinar at cancellation@irem.org or (800) 837-0706. The chart below describes our cancellation policy based on the timeframe in which you provide written notice. IREM does not provide extensions for any courses.

Note: IREM may from time to time find it necessary to cancel a classroom course, live online course, or webinar. In such cases, your registration fee will be fully refunded. However, IREM assumes no liability for any expenses incurred other than the registration fee.

ADA reasonable accommodation requests

IREM provides students with reasonable accommodations in accordance with ADA/Section 504 and applicable state law. Accommodation requests must be received at least 10 business days (5 business days for MPSA) before scheduled exam/course. Please complete this online form to submit your request.
