Course Description
Learn to keep client, tenant, and management company data secure. The IREM Skill Badge: Cybersecurity helps you work with technology professionals to manage cybersecurity risks in your company and properties. You’ll learn:
- Best practices for mitigating cybersecurity risk at the firm level
- Vulnerabilities in property systems
- The basics of networking best practices
- Physical security considerations to protect IT infrastructure
- Cybersecurity best practices with tenants/residents and vendors
- Individual cybersecurity best practices
The course includes checklists and templates to help you manage cybersecurity risk at your properties.
Prerequisite knowledge
- Students will be expected to have at least rudimentary technology awareness and skills. On-the-job exposure to technology and cybersecurity issues should suffice.
- A link to the IREM technology glossary will be provided as a course resource.
