Instructor approval process:

Although the approval process is a rigorous one, the time and financial commitment involved are well worth your investment. The process typically takes 12-18 months. Successful completion of IREM’s instructor training program builds personal and professional value for years to come. The average IREM instructor has been teaching for IREM for over 20 years.

Please note: an applicant must pass each phase of the process to move to the next phase.

Phase one: application and interview

  1. Submit an application, business resume, chapter endorsement letter, and 2 reference letters.
    • Deadline to submit application and supporting documents is December 31st, 2020.
  2. If your application qualifies you for an interview, you will be:

    • Asked to prepare a 5-8 minute video demonstrating your platform delivery skills. You will be provided with lesson materials for the course you have applied to teach; these materials will be used to provide the video.
  3. Upon successful completion of the content interview and delivery skills presentation (your video submission), you will be invited to attend IREM’s Instructor Training Seminar, which is phase two of the process.

Phase two: training

  1. You attend the Virtual 4-day Instructor Training Seminar, which focuses on platform delivery skills, tentatively scheduled for May 12, 13, 19, and 20.
    • Expenses: There is no fee to attend the seminar; however, applicants are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses
    • Learning objectives of the seminar can be found here
