Globally we are in a generational energy transition away from fossil fuels. This trend will impact our homes, the cars we drive and our commercial buildings. Buildings represent 42% of the US Greenhouse Gas emissions and many have set their sights on reducing this from manufacturers of new technology, government regulators, utilities and building owners. This session will focus on understanding the trends and impacts of this energy transition for commercial real estate.
Learning Objectives:
- What is electrification?
- What new regulations are being implemented around building energy usage?
- What incentives are available to aid in the transition?
Erik Moser has spent his career working in existing commercial buildings to identify and install energy efficient equipment and onsite renewable energy. Erik's expertise is in working with large building owners, private equity firms and REITs to develop long term decarbonization plans focused on targeted CapEx spending with high returns.
