Two congressmen agree to co-sponsor the Respect State Housing Laws Act
IREM members successfully advocated on the Hill during Advocacy Impact Day + ESG Summit! Members conducted over 100 meetings with federal legislators and successful meetings with both Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ 8th District) and Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ 5th District) have led both Congressmen to agree to co-sponsor H.R. 802/S.3755, the Respect State Laws Housing Act. Coalition Letter on White House fact sheets
IREM, along with other housing providers, signed a coalition letter in response to the Administration’s recent Fact Sheets, “Biden-Harris Administration Announces New Actions to Boost Housing Supply and Lower Housing Costs" and "The Price Isn’t Right: How Junk Fees Cost Consumers and Undermine Competition.” The coalition letter addresses the need to focus on the supply of housing rather and urges the administration to consider the impacts of new policies and regulations on necessary housing industry practices such as application and service fees, bulk broadband billing arrangements, and the preservation of manufactured housing.
