Today’s technologies are helping property managers better manage their assets by providing deep insight into how a building functions, in both the present and over the course of the building’s life. This can be further enhanced with the use of Internet of Things (IoT) technology that allows property managers to continually track a building’s data, be altered to when changes take place and help more efficient building performance. Please join James Scott from MIT’s Center for Real Estate as he outlines what IOT technology can bring to the table and what is really making an impact across the industry.
During the course of this webinar, you will learn about:
- What IoT systems are capable of in facilitating more efficient property management
- What aspects of the business are seeing the greatest improvement with these systems
- What future improvements are likely as this technology is developed out over time
James Scott, who is working with IREM as Technology Innovator-in-Residence, is Lead Researcher for the MIT Real Estate Innovation Lab (REIL). REIL merges MIT’s school of real estate with its technological capabilities to create an innovative real estate tech research platform. Among other projects at REIL, Scott has been responsible for creating a global database of all real estate-oriented technology companies, and has identified over 1,800, with that number continuing to rise. His experience with this project further validates the impact of technology on the world of real estate. As Innovator-in-Residence at IREM, Scott’s goal is to identify innovations that can help IREM members operate their buildings more efficiently, improve their properties’ competitive positioning, and better serve tenants and clients.
